Towanna MURPHY was born Towanna Ratliff in Chicago, Ill at Cook County Hospital. Towanna moved to Milwaukee, WI at the age of 9 years old. Towanna Graduated from North Division High School in the early 1990's, immediately after High School, Towanna enrolled into Bryant and Stratton College, where she graduated with an Associate Degree as a Medical Assistant. Towanna Married in 2007, and moved to Memphis, TN where she now resides, and Divorced. Towanna Murphy is a survivor, being a victim of abuse, rape, depression, and homelessness. Towanna was an Educator at Anthem Career College where she taught Medical Assistant courses. Towanna then got the opportunity to work as a RADIO Personality for WRUG MEDIA GROUP IN 2013, she has interview artist such as Fred Hammond, JMoss, Byron Cage, Tamela Mann, just to make a few. Towanna went on to doing TV Shows on SVP TV as a Co-host WITH DEBBIE McClendon with LET'S TALK. Towanna landed her own TV show on SVP TV known as The TOWANNA MURPHY SHOW. shorty after having her baby boy Ethan. Towanna returned to RADIO landing a spot on AM730KQPN, then on to AM990KWAM. Towanna organized THE FIRST BLACK MAYOR DEBATE 3 YEARS AGO. In 2017 TOWANNA won The MTENZI AWARD FOR BEST PRODUCER IN RADIO, Cam Mtenzi. TOWANNA MURPHY is now the owner of her own station in MEMPHIS, TN and is now known as THE FIRST BLACK OWNED FEMALE STATION OWNER IN MEMPHIS, WDEM 98.5FM IS NOW A STELLAR NOMINATED STATION with over 128k listeners daily.
